I see this as being a perfect word to describe a persons' involvement in a volunteer organization - we are there to purpose the facilitation of a communal idea(l). Personalities, opinions, and power - other than for getting things done in specific areas - are irrelevant and should be curtailed individually for the success of the purpose.
